Full day sightseeing in Turpan. A must and first visit is the oldest Uighur village, Tuyoq Village. Located in the centre of the Flaming Mountain Canyon. The village consists of four parts: canyon scenery, mazar tombs, and ancient buildings of the ancient village. After finishing there, we will visit the Jiaohe Ruins, one of the best-preserved ancient sites in China, which was inscribed on 22 June 2014 on the World Heritage List.
Following lunch in the restaurant, we will drive all the way from 1hr to Sugong Minaret, the largest Islamic minaret in China built in 1778 by Sulaiman, who is the ruler and leader of Turpan, to commemorate and commend his father's achievements of the reunion of Xinjiang.
In the afternoon we will also pay a visit to Karez Well. Karez Well is a kind of underground water conservancy project created during the long historical development of the working people in arid lands. Qan'erjing drew out the groundwater and turned the desert into an oasis, which was called "well canal" in ancient times. Because of the peculiar structure and extraordinary function of the Qan'erjing irrigation system, it has been attracting people's attention for a long time.
