Morning depart from the hotel, we will head to the Karez Well, which is a kind of underground water conservancy project created during the long historical development of the working people in arid lands. Karez Well drew out the groundwater and turned the desert into an oasis, which was called a "well canal" in ancient times. Because of the peculiar structure and extraordinary function of the Karez Well irrigation system, it has been attracting people's attention for a long time.
Then explore the Sugong Minaret. It is the largest existing Minaret in Xinjiang, which was built in 1778 A.D. and has a history of more than 230 years. It was built by the famous Uyghur patriot Emin and Zhuo, the king of Turpan County, in order to repay the favour of the Qing Dynasty, express his piety to Allah and to make his lifelong performance known to future generations, and he paid 7000 taels of silver for the construction of the pagoda.
Travel back to Urumqi in the afternoon, which is about other 1.5hrs. After that, visit the Xinjiang International Bazaar. It is currently the largest bazaar in the country, with the most concentrated and intact expression of Uyghur culture. The most famous attraction is the Silk Road Sightseeing Tower in the centre of the square, which has colourful paintings and exhibitions on all floors, showing the historical stories of the Silk Road.
