Today we will spend a day touring the Kashgar Old Town. The Kashgar Old Town is one of the world's largest existing raw earth architectural complexes, with crisscrossing streets and lanes, and buildings of different heights. It is currently the only well-preserved labyrinthine city block featuring Islamic culture. In July 2015, Kashgar Old Town Scenic Spot was rated as a national 5A scenic spot, and it became the first national 5A historical and humanistic scenic spot in Xinjiang.
Walking in the streets and alleys of Kashgar Ancient City, there is a feeling of travelling through time and space: on one side is the new city with tall buildings, on the other side is the ancient labyrinthine complex, on one side is the clanking sound of hammering coming out of the traditional smithy, on the other side is the gust of aroma wafting out of the coffee shop.
Next tour the Id Kah Mosque. The mosque was also an important institution for spreading Islamic culture and training talents in ancient times, training many Islamic clergymen and scholars, and other influential poets, literary scholars, historians and translators, which had a certain influence on the religious circles both at home and abroad.
At the end of the day tour, we will transfer you to Kashgar railway station for the night train to Turpan. The train journey lasts about 15 hours.
Note: A soft sleeper compartment is equipped with 4 berths, but no private bathroom.
