Upon your arrival at the Lhasa airport/railwaystation, your tour guide will greet you and escort you to your hotel and help you get checked in. You will have the rest of the day and evening to rest and relax to become acclimatized to the higher altitude of Tibet.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the incredible Potala Palace– which has a long history and is an important gateway for sharing Tibetan architecture and culture with the world.
Then we will move on to the spiritually significant Jokhang Temple. It is an extremely revered and essential site in the history of Tibetan Buddhism. We'll stroll through Barkhor Street with its thriving local market where you can experience the historical lifestyle of Lhasa.

Today features visits to 2 of the most important monasteries in Tibetan Buddhism – the Drepung and Sera Monasteries. Drepung Monastery is the biggest monastery in Tibet. It's a stunning sight that's perfect for taking memorable photos.
After Drepung, we will move on to the Sera Monastery, one of the three great monasteries in Lhasa.Many of its main halls still preserve ancient frescoes, showcasing their historical and artistic significance. Its main activity is sutra debating and is a traditional academic activity in which monks deepen their understanding, cultivate wisdom and pass on the Dharma by debating the contents of the Buddhist classics.

Only exploring the exotic culture of Tibet is not enough, you also have to enjoy its natural beauty. So today, you are going to visit the picturesque Namtso Lake, which is about 220km from Lhasa city.
Namtso Lake, one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet, is renowned as a holy site in Tibetan Buddhism. The reflection of snow-capped mountains on its tranquil waters evokes a sense of peace and serenity. Every year on the 15th day of the fourth month in the Tibetan calendar, numerous laypeople gather at Namtso to celebrate the Saga Dawa Festival.
After the sightseeing, drive back to Lhasa. (Optional: if you want, you can spend a night there to watch the amazing sunset and sunrise. But this arrangement needs you to add one extra day to your tour.)

This morning we’ll take a drive up to Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet's three holy lakes, which is surrounded by snowy mountains and icy peaks all year round. According to local legends, it is said to be the manifestation of a goddess.
Later on we’ll be able to visit the Karola Glacier. It is one of the three major continental glaciers in Tibet and has been the outdoor shooting location for several movies. Late in the afternoon we will continue on to Shigatse where we will spend the night.

After breakfast we’ll set out towards the peak of the world – Mount Everest. Departing from Shigatse and traveling via Lhatse and Tingri, you will see some of the most beautiful and unique scenery in the world –incredibly blue skies, floating high clouds and it offers the best panoramic views of Everest. We’ll also stop by the Rongbuk Monastery – is located at the foot of Mount Everest, and the world’s highest altitude monastery, before spending the night at the Everest Base Camp.

Enjoy a breathtaking sunrise at the Everest Base Camp before we journey back through the spectacular scenery to spend the night again in Shigatse.

We will get an early start today to visit the Tashilunpo Monastery, which combines the traditional Tibetan architectural style with Buddhist influences. It is also home to a vast collection of valuable artifacts from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, representing different periods of history. Later we will head back to Lhasa.

Today you will have free time until your tour guide escorts you to the Lhasa airport for your departing train or flight from Lhasa.
