Today make your own way from Hong Kong to Beijing by plane or train (air or train tickets are not included). Our English-speaking guide will meet you at the Beijing airport and take you to our pre-booked hotel in Beijing. The rest of today we will leave you to explore this city on your own.

After breakfast at the hotel, start your visit to Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square is surrounded by many famous historical and cultural attractions, such as the Tiananmen Square Citadel, Chairman Mao's Memorial Hall Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, and the National Museum. The grand flag-raising and flag-lowering ceremonies held in Tiananmen Square attract countless Chinese and foreign tourists every day.
Then proceed to the Forbidden City (2 hours). It is located in the centre of Beijing's central axis, was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is also the world's largest and most well-preserved wooden structure of palace-type buildings.
Today you are free to enjoy an authentic Chinese meal at a nice local restaurant.
After lunch, proceed to the Temple of Heaven (2 hours), formerly known as the Temple of Heaven and Earth, is located on the east side of Yongdingmen Street in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It was the place for the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties to worship heaven, pray for grain and rain. It is the largest remaining ancient sacrificial complex in China.

After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel around 8:00. Drive to the Thirteen Ming Tombs, a national scenic spot, is located at the southern foot of Tianshoushan Mountain in Changping District, 50 kilometres north of Beijing, and is the mausoleum complex of the thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), which is characterised by a grand scale, a complete system and a relatively complete preservation. The area has a beautiful natural landscape and an abundance of cultural relics and monuments.
After Chinese lunch, proceed to Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall architectural construction style is unique, dense enemy buildings, especially three enemy buildings and stands one of the main customs platform. China and foreign countries enjoy the reputation of "the Great Wall of China, Mutianyu alone". The mountains in the scenic area are stacked, and the vegetation coverage rate reaches more than 90%. Late autumn is the best time to visit the Mutianyu Great Wall.
Finally, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Shichahai Area (2.5 hours), a national 4A-level tourist attraction, is located in Xicheng District, the centre of Beijing, adjacent to the central axis of the city. With a water area of 336,000 square metres, Shichahai is the largest and most well-preserved piece of historical district in Beijing, and occupies a unique position in the history of the city's planning and construction.
Then get on the bus and walk through the hutongs with Beijing characteristics. Get off at Yinjiao Bridge and walk along the 800-year-old Yandai xiejie to reach the Drum Tower. The street is located in front of the Drum Tower on Di'anmenwai Street in Beijing, which is the boundary of Factory Bridge in Xicheng District. In the Qing Dynasty to the twenties and thirties, the street is mainly engaged in the operation of dry tobacco bag, water pipe and other tobacco products, antiques, painting and calligraphy, painting and framing, stationery and flavourful snacks, service industry, etc. Its shop architectural style is simple and has the characteristics of the northern city of Beijing, which is a more famous cultural street in the northern city of Beijing, and it has left a lot of footprints of the cultural celebrities.
Climb the 67-meter high two-story Drum Tower. Architecture is frozen music. The Beijing Bell and Drum Tower are like two powerful and solemn notes. The sound of the bells and drums echoes in the sky of the city, writing history with sound and carrying the echoes of the city's time over the centuries.
After lunch, we will head to the Olympic Park to see the overall look of the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube from a distance.
