Yungang Grottoes

Nine Dragon Screen
The Datong Nine Dragon Screen, built over 600 years ago, is presently the oldest and largest glazed screen in China today. It is three times larger than that in Beihai Park , Beijing City. The screen, built for the thirteenth son of Zhu Yuanzhang, the first Emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), has been well preserved and remains intact to this day. The nine dragons are life-like and illustrating their ability of calling the wind and controlling the rainfall.
Datong Museum
Datong museum, it is a museum whose main mission is to collect, conserve and display historical relics. Founded in 1959, the museum organizes, displays and exhibits a rich collection of historical relics and artifacts in the context of Datong's long history and culture.
Datong City Walls
It is another historical and cultural attraction of Datong, an ancient and huge city defense building. Built in the Ming Dynasty, the Datong City Wall has a total length of about 6.4 kilometers and boasts important defensive facilities such as city towers, corner towers and gates. If you pay a visit to the city walls in the evening, you will see great differences between day and night.
